ActionAid Uganda (AAU), a national development organization registered under the laws of Uganda and with a local Board seeks to recruit a suitably qualified, self-driven, result-oriented candidate for the Position of a Program Trainee. The successful candidate will be based at ActionAid Uganda Kumi Office in Kumi District with frequent travels to our other field offices.1. Plan, implement and monitor program activities that address community and youth priority poverty issues and submit reports that address community and youth priority issues.2. Build the institutional and programme capacity for youth, partners and communities to demand for and advocate for their rights3. Participate in the mobilization and provide justification for utilization of resources to addressing existing funding gaps at the LRP and partner requirements4. Plan, Implement, evaluate and report on child sponsorship activities within the LRP in accordance to the sponsorship Policy and Communications guidelines5. Participate in the district, regional and national strategic influencing workshops6. Promote AAIU image and provide technical support to stakeholders in line with the organizational values, mission and vision.7. Identify community and district level advocacy issues to inform national and international policy influencing8. Consolidate community priorities and draw strategic and implementation plans during plans and budgeting periods9. Identify alternative models, Documentation of lessons learnt from the existing models and popularize best practices10. Carry out periodic monitoring visits and produce reports on field programme activity implementation at the LRPAn Upper second class University degree in Development Studies, or appropriate Social Science discipline with at least 1-2 years relevant experience in program work in an NGO. Any additional professional qualification and knowledge of basic computer skills will be an added advantage.
