Organisation: United States Peace Corps (PC)Reports to: Peace Corps Uganda, Director of Programming and TrainingAbout United States Peace Corps (PC):Peace Corps (PC) is an agency of the United States Government, which brings American volunteer development workers to assist Uganda in capacity building and technical assistance activities in Health, Education and Community Economic Development. There are about 160 Volunteers assigned to non-government organizations, government entities, clinics, colleges and schools. Peace Corps also aims to build cultural understanding between Americans and Ugandans.  All positions require excellent command of English, both spoken and written; native ability in spoken and written in at least one widely spoken Ugandan language. Feed the Future is the United States Government's global hunger and food security initiative. It supports country-driven approaches to address the root causes of hunger and poverty and forge long-term solutions to chronic food insecurity and under-nutrition.Job Summary: The Feed the Future Coordinator (FtF) will be providing national-level technical leadership and expertise to Peace Corps’ Feed the Future Interagency Partnership.Key Duties and Responsibilities: Routinely coordinate with USAID/Uganda and two regional technical coordinators as team leader in all aspects of developing and supporting Peace Corps Volunteer food security activities.Prepare and compile program reports for PC/Uganda, USAID/Uganda and PC/HQ to demonstrate the use and impact of PC/Uganda’s contributions to Feed the Future.Develop Volunteer work sites with partners.Offer technical resource information and technical training and coaching to Volunteers and their counterparts.Support Volunteers in monitoring their work and reporting outcomes.Co-develop a Project Advisory Committee.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:-The ideal United States Peace Corps (PC) should possess a Master’s degree in Business, Agro-business, Marketing, Agriculture or related field or appropriate education and professional experience mix.At least five years’ experience, ten years is desirable, in the field of marketing and agribusiness, finance and business, agro business development.The Peace Corps Uganda should be highly dynamic and experienced professional in agriculture/business field.The applicant should have the passion and creative drive to join this project technically supporting over 40 Volunteers in Uganda to promote better harvest handling techniques and field-to-market solutions, to enable Ugandan farmers and farming associations to develop strong business skills and access to financial markets.Excellent skills in networking, negotiation, partnership development, and the ability of strategic thinking that can support, guide and nurture Volunteers’ and host organizations towards shared goals.Possess an excellent command of English, both spoken and written;Possess the ability to work independently with little supervision;Excellent organization and time management skills; willingness to take the initiative;Be an excellent team leader and teamwork skills,Strong service attitude;High personal integrity;Excellent cross-cultural skills;Possess excellent interpersonal skills,Possess a keen interest in Uganda’s development; and ability to travel extensively.All applications should be sent electronically.
