Chief of Party -Uganda Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)

International Relief & Development is recruiting for a Chief of Partyfor an upcoming five year $25 million - $75 million USAID Uganda Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Program. The overall goal of USAID’s WASH program in Uganda is to accelerate sustainable improvement in water and sanitation access and improve hygiene behaviors in the target districts. To accomplish that requires the Contractor to execute tasks which contribute to five distinct outputs:

Increase use of improved household sanitation;Strengthen national and district water and sanitation governance;Expand key hygiene behaviors at home, school and health facilities;Improve management of small town water supply and sanitation services.

Summary:

The Chief of Party will manage the project, liaise with USAID and other donors as well as Implementing Partners, provide technical vision and guidance, and ensure that quality standards and schedules are met. The COP will manage overall contract requirements, including staffing and cost, and quality control of all work performed under the contract. This position will be based in Uganda and is designed for a local candidate with international donor project experience or a professional with an extensive background in Uganda, especially Uganda WASH projects.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the main point of contact between USAID and IRD.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to staff, particularly in program evaluations.Ensure effective and timely performance of all deliverables, overseeing quality control and reporting, and adhering to the USAID branding and marking plan for the task order.Supervise field operations, including, but not limited to: procurement, financial management, logistics, inventory and budgeting with the client.Ensure that safety and security protocol is followed for operations.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field.At least ten years of experience in international development, including experience and/or technical knowledge in designing, managing and evaluating multi-million dollar development projects in the health sector.At least five years’ experience as a COP or senior field management experience such as Project Director, Regional Director or Country Director roles leading teams on large WASH projects in developing countries with funding from USAID or other international donor-funded entities.Prior experience in Eastern and/or Southern Africa, especially Uganda.Demonstrated experience working with senior USAID officials.Prior experience managing a project in a challenging operating environment.Excellent English writing skills and speaking ability.See more at: http://ch.tbe.taleo.net/CH13/ats/careers/requisition.jsp?org=IRDDC&cws=1...How to apply:
