PSI seeks qualified, dynamic candidates for the position of Senior Technical Advisor Social Marketing for Uganda. The Senior TA will directly assist the Chief of Party in the design, roll-out and day-to-day management and implementation of an anticipated Social Marketing Project aimed at improving the utilization of health related products and services. S/he shall have depth and breadth of technical expertise and experience in designing and implementing comprehensive Social Marketing interventions. S/he shall have strong management expertise, interpersonal skills, and professional relationships. This full-time position is based in Kampala, Uganda and reports to the COP.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the COP in the technical implementation of the Social Marketing projectLead technical development and implementation of annual marketing, communication and research plans for all relevant socially marketed health products and servicesDevelop toolkits, guides, and other resources for best practicesIncrease capacity of staff in social marketing and the total market approach through training and mentoring.Develop tools for measuring impact of social marketing activitiesProvide technical assistance for research and evaluation activities, working closely across departments to ensure research is driving an ‘evidence to action’ approach to social marketing activitiesEnsure the internal and external documentation and dissemination of research studies, case studies, best practices, and success stories in collaboration with in-country stakeholders, donor representatives, and PSI departmentsManage and mentor staff.Support Chief of Party in other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master’s Degree in public health, or a related field, with specific emphasis in marketing/business management;A minimum of eight years’ experience with progressively increasing responsibility in:Designing, managing, and implementing complex, large scale Social Marketing or marketing programs in developing countries involving multiple stakeholders and implementing partnersDepth and breadth of knowledge of and accomplishments in working with marketing of products and services in the private sector;Demonstrated management skills, including relevant experience in direct supervision of professional staff; andExcellent organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills (in English).
