practice in order to achieve measurable improvement in teaching and learning.

From our well-established reputation in education system strengthening, to

innovative work in early grade assessment and learning, RTI is improving

education quality, relevance and efficiency through implementation of projects

funded by USAID, DFID, Australian Aid and other donors and clients. RTI

International is implementing the Uganda Literacy Achievement and Retention

Activity Project (2015-2020).


Job Summary: The USAID Project Teacher Trainer will coordinate

the teacher training across the different levels in support of project implementation.

The incumbent will work closely with the Reading Specialist to design and

implement the program’s teacher training for both pre- and in-service teacher

training efforts. The Teacher Trainers will be responsible for ensuring the

training unfolds as planned in target districts by conducting regular support

visits to target schools. They will be providing ongoing support to district

coordinators and literacy trainers working in target districts. They may also

attend tutor training and support literacy trainers directly using available

technology.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the Teacher

    Trainer job should hold a Master’s degree in education with a minimum of

    nine years’ experience developing and coordinating teacher training

    activities and inputs or Bachelor’s degree and 12 years’ experience.

  • Detailed knowledge of education system in

    Uganda, with a proven ability as a facilitator/trainer and manager.

  • Excellent communication skills in English,

    with a track record of producing well written reports to deadlines

  • Ability and experience managing and

    monitoring budgets.

  • Past USAID education project

    implementation experience is an added advantage
