Job Description:
Days for Girls Uganda is currently looking for a Program Officer for our Kampala-based office. The primary role of the Program Officer will be to lead the implementation of Days for Girls country programs. This includes:
- Organization and oversight of all field-based reproductive health and kit making training programs
- Coordination of in-depth, office based training in kit making, reproductive health and entrepreneurship
- Distribution of kits with local partners
- Follow-up support and trouble-shooting with all Days for Girls Enterprises in the region
The Program Officer will also be responsible for managing monitoring and evaluation initiatives, including the collection and analysis of program surveys and participant testimonials.
Duties/Assignments:
Program Responsibilities
· Organize program logistics (communicate with school or partner organization, organize transportation, create program agenda, ensure team has all materials necessary to run program)
· Facilitate reproductive health training
· Facilitate entrepreneurship training
· Support sewing training (no prior sewing skills necessary)
· Create teaching materials when necessary
· Provide Enterprise development support and resources to Days for Girls Enterprises
· Manage impact database with updated information about distributions and training
M & E Responsibilities
· Manage M & E system for measuring impact of reusable menstrual kits
· Analyze findings and present written reports with recommendations to team
· Manage promotional documents and materials, i.e. photos, testimonials, video clips
Administrative Responsibilities
· Help to represent Days for Girls in relevant events, media, and conferences
· Support Days for Girls team with miscellaneous tasks related to volunteer coordination, deliveries, and partnerships

Education and Work Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in related subject area is recommended but not required
· Prior experience in program implementation, event management, and/or teaching (formal or informal)
· Prior experience with project management
· Proven dedication to promoting gender equality and positive social change
Conditions of Employment
· Projected start date: June 2015
· Fulltime, Monday – Friday
· Based in Kampala, with approximately 50% travel within Uganda & East Africa
· Compensation is modest with potential for growth
