Key Duties and

Responsibilities: 

  • The

    job holder will be tasked with the preparation of timely and accurate

    monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

  • Compile

    and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements

    including monthly and annual accounts.

  • The

    Accountant will prepare monthly Bank reconciliation statements by

    monitoring and resolving bank issues including fee anomalies and check

    differences.

  • Regularly

    review financial transactions by auditing documents to ensure financial

    records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and

    procedures.

  • In

    charge of reconciling and resolving financial discrepancies and

    irregularities by collecting and analysing account information.

  • Maintain

    the security of financial information by following international

    accounting standards and ensuring database backups.

  • Offer

    technical financial support in budget and forecast activities.

  • Handle

    all payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.

  • Ensure

    that all Statutory payments (PAYE/VAT/Withholding Taxes/corporate tax, etc.)

    are made

  • Manage

    and prepare the payroll

  • Prepare

    annual returns for the Company and Directors

  • Manage

    and track company Assets.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 

  • The

    ideal candidate for the Accountant career opportunity should hold a University

    Degree from a reputable institution.

  • A

    full member of an International Accounting Professional body such as CPA,

    ACCA or its equivalent

  • A

    member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU)

  • At

    least five years of post-qualification experience preferably with Audit

    Experience.

  • Detailed

    knowledge and understanding of Accounting principles

  • Strong

    knowledge in financial reporting

  • Payroll

    management experience

  • Knowledge

    of state regulations and requirements

  • Computer

    literacy i.e. working knowledge of Accounting software preferably TALLY

  • Ability

    to design and operationalize processes.

  • Possess

    the ability to effectively communicate in English.

  • Excellent

    planning and organizational skills

  • Ability

    to lead and work with and through teams.

  • Ability

    to take initiative and act before being told.

  • Ability

    to focus on key goals and deliver results.

  • Ability

    to focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability

    to pursue high standards in line with agreed organizational values and

    standards of professionalism

  • Ability

    to work under pressure.

  • Ability

    to set up and establish internal controls
