Reports
to: Assistant Project Engineer
The Government
of Uganda (GoU) through the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and
Fisheries (MAAIF) is implementing the Improving Access and Use of Agricultural
Equipment and Mechanization through the Use of Labor Saving Technologies
Project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Conducting routine maintenance, service and repair of
all project equipment/machinery;
·
Providing capacity building to plant operators on
minor repairs and preventive maintenance;
·
In charge of ensuring timely repairs of all
equipment;
·
Developing repairs and maintenance schedules for the
equipment and implementing the schedules;
·
Performing any other duties that may be assigned by
the supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The applicant should be a Ugandan in possession of
an Ordinary Diploma in any of the following fields: Agricultural Engineering or
Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or institution;
·
Possess a valid driving permit class CH, CM, H &
B Working Experience
·
At least five years’ experience in
machinery/tractor/ motor vehicle operation/dealing/ maintenance in Government
or equivalent level of experience in a reputable organization operating/
dealing in Agricultural machinery.
·
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
·
Self motivated and self driven;
·
Able to work and reside under field/rural
conditions;
·
Computer literacy skills
