Job Summary: The Senior
Finance Officer-Grants will support the Grants Finance Manager in developing,
monitoring and implementing Management Accounting and Financial Information for
decision making in line with WVU Financial Standards.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Accountability and Reporting:
- Ensure
financial reporting is done; review monthly bank reconciliation, PBAS
reconciliation, fixed assets management, General Ledger Reconciliation,
Prepare and communicate Aging analysis report, Cash analysis, Local Income
reconciliation and produce a weekly score card for cluster performances. - Ensure
proper management of National Office Departmental budgets and prepare a
monthly MSC analysis Report to be communicated to all budget Managers. - Ensure
end of year financial closing is done within WVU expected standards and
work with the finance team to ensure Audit findings are implemented within
the financial year. - Ensure
that all balance sheet accounts are analyzed and proper aging provided on
a monthly basis. - Prepare
reports for presentations during FFR review and contribute in FFR review
meetings on a quarterly basis. - Prepare
monthly adjustment vouchers.
2. Financial Planning and Budgeting:
- Ensure
that PBAS request are done, budget adjustments are extracted and
communicated to accountants and reconciliations are done on time. - Avail
finance information during the budgeting process. - Cost
Efficiency and Budgeting. - Intuitively
review all payments for budget approvals for National Office Departments. - Prepare
monthly cost efficiency analysis reports.
3. Capacity Building: Ensure that capacity of the staff in the
reporting section is built and manage the appraisal process of the supervised
staff.
- Technically
support the internal and external audit processes at National Office. - Regularly
review and implement internal controls set within the organization and
advice management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicants should preferably hold a University Education with a major in
Accounting and a full professional qualification in A.C.C.A, CPA or CIMA
or equivalent. - At
least four years of post qualification experience with World Vision
Uganda. - Extensive
Computer knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Vision Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SUN
Accounting and Access is required. - Proven
knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Internal Control
Procedures. - Excellent
written and oral Communication skills are essential - Be
a team builder who is able to work successfully in a multicultural
environment. - Possess
a high level of integrity is required. - Show

local cultural context
