unsafe abortion.
Job Summary: The
Marketing and Communications Advisor will provide support in the development of
the organisation’s marketing strategy in relation to the achievement of
effective and profitable sales of Marie Stopes branded products and Marie
Stopes clinical services. The incumbent
will be responsible for developing excellent intelligence of our clients,
customers and potential markets and cost effective exploitation of
opportunities the role shows a clear ROI in relation to his/her costs the post
holder coordinates all CRM communications and engages across the external
stakeholders to achieve impact.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Support the development, roll out and ongoing review of a MSU
marketing strategy which aligns with brand values and demonstrates ROI:
- Works
on marketing strategies in close collaboration with the Product Sales and
Centres lead roles and the Hotline Specialist - Regularly
analyze market and competitor trends and recommend changes to marketing
and business development strategies based on analysis and feedback. - Gather
and analyze client and customer insights and changing client and customer
needs and preferences and ensure marketing strategies are updated to
reflect these changes - Effectively
utilize internal and external resource in order to gather client insights,
develop and execute new concepts, business models, channels and partners
to position business as innovator and leader - Work
closely with the Sales Manager, identify opportunities for expansion of
product portfolio based on unmet client needs with commercially viable,
surplus generating product solutions - Deepen
relationships with all media to ensure the most effective messaging and
positioning of the organization - Report
monthly on campaign progress (cost and activities) - Report
quarterly on results - Manage
media relationships and capitalize on PR opportunities in relation to
social enterprise
2. Supporting the product sales team with well-targeted, insight-driven and
consistently branded promotions and materials:
- Works
in liaison with the Product Sales and Marketing team, develop an excellent
understanding of the products and the day to day issues faced and
constraints to success - Develop
demand generation strategies to drive awareness and client
trial/repurchase of MSU products - Oversee
all areas of content generation and production across all media platforms,
including digital and social media - Ensure
all activities, messages and promotions are consistent with product brand
positioning
3. Supporting the Clinical services teams through development of
targeted, insight-driven and consistently branded promotions and materials
- Works
in consultation with the Clinical Services team and Centres, develop an excellent understanding of
the services offered and the day to issues faced and constraints to
success - Regularly
review client satisfaction rates through client exit interviews, CLIC ,
call centre etc. and work with clinics lead to adapt strategies
accordingly - Manage
all areas of content generation and production across all media platforms
including digital and social media - Ensure
all activities, messages and promotions are consistent with MSI global
brand positioning
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
- The
ideal candidate should preferably hold an advanced degree in Journalism,
Development Communication, Social Marketing or Public Health - At
least five years’ experience in undertaking similar assignments - The
candidate should also be experienced in media and Behavioral Change
Communication (BCC) - Excellent
working knowledge of the Ugandan health sector - Knowledge
of family planning an advantage - Possess
the ability to build effective relationships, influence and negotiate with
internal and external stakeholders at every level of seniority - Ability
to prioritise a complex and demanding workload - Ability
to develop innovative and practical solutions to challenges - Possess
the ability to gather and interpret client insights and turn client
insights into action plans - Past
experience of developing and executing successful demand generation
strategies - Ability
to present work at external events, including some out of hours travel and
working - Excellent
and creative oral and written communication skills, including ability to
write in English and at least two Ugandan languages - Excellent
engagement with informational technology and social media platforms - Excellent
track record of partnership working to achieve better results - Past
experience of project managing marketing projects including developing
concepts for audience specific projects
