sustainable safe water solutions.
Job Summary: The Project Engineer will be providing cost
effective designs for village-sized piped water schemes. He / she will be
performing engineering tasks within the Country Program following established
standards and procedures.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Conduct
engineering tasks including water hydraulic design calculations, and
development of plans, specifications, and drawings - Perform
routine field inspections and site assessments - Quickly
report on various aspects of work as it relates to assessment, design,
implementation, or follow-up - Assemble
required permits and reports for government agencies - Perform
any other duties as requested under the direction of the Senior Engineer
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
- The
possible job suitors must hold Bachelor’s degrees in Engineering – Civil,
Chemical, or Mechanical are preferred - Two
or more years’ experience in water and/or waste water engineering –
consulting engineering with specific design experience is preferred - The
incumbent must have the temperament and energy to be a leader in an
entrepreneurial environment. - Possess
a valid Driver’s license - Advanced
skills with computer programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project,
EPANET, Google Earth and AutoCAD - Excellent
verbal and written communications skills (English &
Luo/Luganda/Lusoga) - Excellent
analytical skills, process design skills and project planning skills - Good
understanding of and commitment to the mission of the organization - The
applicant person in this position must be a strong Christian and must feel
a clear calling from God and a heartfelt passion for our mission. - Possess
the ability to project confidence but be willing to learn new design
methods - Ability
to work with a team toward common goals, and overcome diverse obstacles - Ability
to organize personal work load and achieve results in time - Ability
to be on time - Ability
and willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends when
necessary - Be
a self-starter who problem solves and follows through without prodding but
knows when and how to ask for assistance and counsel
