Uganda: Fixed Term Public Health Promoter (PHP) Coordinator – (to work remotely from Uganda to support Yemen - 2015

TEAM PURPOSE:To work with the Programme team and Oxfam’s partners to design and oversee the PHP element of the current Humanitarian crisis response for Yemen.


JOB PURPOSE:


To facilitate quality, gender-sensitive, accountable, and impact-focus public health interventions in Yemen through technical advisory, capacity building to staff and partners, system/model building on programming, as well as influencing policy and practice through researches, analysis, networking and advocacy to concerned stakeholdersfor the current Humanitarian crisis response for Yemen.


DIMENSIONS:


  • Requires the ability to define and shape strategic objectives and priorities for the programme PHP strategy and team, involving collaboration with other programme units.

  • Must be able to match the needs of a rapid scale-up within a changing context throughout the response

PERSON SPECIFICATION


  • Substantial experience of emergency WASH programming. Including working on a large scale up (sudden onset)

  • Solid experience in working in conflict setting/remote operations

  • Ability to work remotely with a team – guiding on community mobilisation and PHP

  • Able to influence/negotiate and advocate technical options and strategy to donors and team

  • Excellent monitoring skills with the ability to integrate protection and gender into the response
