The Mukwano

Group of Companies is the leading manufacturer of Fast Moving Consumer Goods

(FMCG) in the Great Lakes region, producing a wide range of market leader

brands in soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents, beverages, personal

care products and plastics.


Job Summary:  The Human Resource Advisor, Recruitment &

Appraisal will oversee the recruitment and appraisal functions of the Group.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:  


·        
Keenly review and update all selection and appraisal

policies and procedures


·        
In charge of preparing job adverts (internal &

external) and manage the full recruitment, selection and exit processes


·        
Coordinate all interviews in liaison with the

process owners and disseminating the relevant reports respectively


·        
Develop a jobseeker data-bank for potential

candidates for the relevant sections / departments


·        
The incumbent will develop a data-bank of

consultancy firms to source from externally accordingly


·        
Coordinate transfers, rotations and promotion

processes


·        
Update the salary structure according to existing

market rates.


·        
Carry out job evaluations and review Job Descriptions

as per the requirement


·        
Manage the quarterly and annual appraisal exercises

for the Group and submit appraisal reports respectively


·        
Take part in the review and implementation of human

resource policies and procedures


·        
Address all internal/external audit issues on

recruitment and appraisal processes


·        
Support in the training and development functions of

the group as required


·        
Guide management and implement existing

international HR best practices that position the company as the Best Employer

Brand


·        
Coach and mentor staff


·        
The incumbent will manage the annual graduate

trainees program


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:


·        
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree

in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology; Management Studies,

Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration and other related

disciplines. Possession of a post graduate diploma or Masters in Human Resource

Management is a MUST and gives an added advantage


·        
At least three years’ working experience in a

similar role in a large Manufacturing Company


·        
Working knowledge of existing labour laws and

attitudinal/employee engagement surveys


·        
Working knowledge of all HR cycle functions


·        
Best practice interviewing skills


·        
Excellent negotiation, analytical, planning and

organization skills


·        
Possess a positive attitude


·        
Highly self-driven


·        
High degree of flexibility


·        
Results focused


·        
Effective communication


·        
High degree of professionalism, creative,

innovative, work for long hours and work under pressure with minimum

supervision.


·        
Effective report writing, communication and good

customer care skills
