programs for over 40  years that promote social

and economic change around the world.


Chemonics

International Inc. is implementing the Feed the Future Uganda Commodity

Production and Marketing (CPM) activity. CPM is implemented through a

five-year, USAID- funded contract that began in March 2013. CPM exists to

increase the wealth and long-term prosperity of Ugandan families in 34 Feed the

Future focus districts. CPM uses innovative methods to reduce poverty and

under-nutrition in rural families by increasing the quantity and quality of

coffee, maize, and beans that they are able to produce and sell.


Job Summary:  The Regional Business Manager will oversee the

CPM Eastern regional office and will oversee the work of a team of regional

business coordinators and support staff.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
The incumbent will oversee the Activity’s work with

large scale private sector companies or exporters, traders and their associated

village agents to foster business linkages, and catalyze additional investment

into the maize, beans and coffee value chains.


·        
Foster innovation among traders and their village

agents in the region that leads to increased profit, improved competitiveness, and

better business relationships between actors in the three value chains.


·        
The incumbent will implement work plans for the

Eastern region to achieve annual targets.


·        
Actively participate in regional commodity platforms

and forums to contribute to sector enhancement


·        
Manage the work of regional business coordinator(s).     


·        
The incumbent will manage the work of support staff

and ensure good management of the Activity’s assets in the region. 


·        
Work closely with other FTF and non FTF implementing

partners in- the Eastern region.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The ideal candidate must hold an MBA or business

related studies;


·        
Significant private sector experience required;


·        
At least six to eight years’ experience in business/sales/marketing

of a reputable organization;


·        
Strong project management and financial analysis

skills;


·        
The incumbent must be an aggressive self-starter,

independent thinker, and be able to initiate and manage partnerships with the

private sector, government, and civil society.


·        
Strong leadership and teambuilding skills;


·        
The applicant must be an excellent communicator with

experience in building strong client and stakeholder relationships;


·        
Creative problem solver who has the ability to come

up with new ideas that relate to strategic goals.


·        
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and

deliver results on tight deadlines.


·        
No donor experience required
