In the past year, Living Goods networks of empowered entrepreneurs in East Africa more than doubled, we supported six replicating partners operating across the globe from Peru to Indonesia. We are striving for massive impact and seek nothing less than a disruptive reinvention of distribution in the developing world. To support our ambitious vision, Living Goods is seeking a Director of Communications and Marketing to help shape, share, and spread our story. Qualified candidates will be gifted writers, and cogent communicators. ResponsibilitiesStrategy:You will help craft the communications and influence strategy, focus our target audiences, prioritize media selection, and identify best of class communications and creative resources.Media and Content:The primary responsibility of this role is to design, develop, and manage all external communications targeting current and potential partners, funders, and influencers in the field. You will oversee our website, email marketing, social media, blog, video production, and contributed content.Public Relations. You will grow Living Goods placements in targeted media outlets. You will cultivate feature stories with journalists as well as contract PR agencies to increase Living Goods visibility and showcase our thought-leadership.Analyze & Optimize. You will use data and analytics to improve communications, employ social media metrics, and identify new ways to use data to optimize communications.Qualifications8+years of experience in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing.Exceptional writer. Qualified candidates will enjoy writing and be able to develop compelling writing styles for a range of platforms.A strong track record of using web and social media to grow breadth and depth of engagement with target audiences.Experience writing and managing grant applications and proposals a plus, including budgeting and reporting.Willingness to travel regionally and internationally.BA required.CompensationA competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience including health, vacation, 401k, and bonus opportunity.
