Organisation: World Food Programme (WFP)Reports to: Senior Logistics AssistantGrade: SB2/Mid (G4 Equivalent)Vacancy Announcement No.:  VA-11-2014The UN World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations frontline agency against world hunger. WFP is the largest and longest serving humanitarian agency in Uganda. Currently, WFP focuses on three priority areas namely: Emergency Humanitarian Action (EHA); Food & Nutrition Security (FNS); and Agriculture & Market Support (AMS). WFP has operations in various parts of the Country. Job Summary: The UN WFP Storekeeper will be responsible for the daily management of the stores.Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Issue the daily stock movement report, and inspect stores and stocks in all the rub halls;In charge of mobilizing and supervising cleaners/loaders at Extended Delivery Point (EDP) and maintain pest free storing conditions;Prepare the warehouse for receipt of incoming food commodities and perform dispatches to Food Distribution Point (FDPs) as per the Food Returns Note (FRN);Quickly report on the quality, quantity of the received commodities and ensure that quantities dispatched as per consignor’s documents match with quantities received and endorse documents;Ensure that the equipment and supplies required for smooth and safe operation of the store (weighing scales, sampling spears, fire extinguishers, spare bags, threads, stationery, etc) are in place;Ensure that the store is safely opened and securely locked according to WFP warehouse procedure;Oversee the offloading and stacking of the commodities, follow up tracking of the commodities in pipeline and report the same to the appropriate personnel;Plan and implement proper stacking according to commodity and shipping Instruction (SI) numbers;Inspect quantity/quality condition of the commodities and packaging during offloading and remark and sign irregularities, damages/shortages/leakages on waybills on waybills with information to the Senior Logistics Assistant and Head of Sub OfficeManage the re-bagging, reconstitution and segregation of damaged food and stacks the same separately.Intuitively check and verify the accuracy of tally sheets and other documents daily.Conduct stock reconciliation and submit daily stock reports.Ensure that all receipts, returns, dispatches are accurately recorded and all transactions are reflected in the appropriate stock cards.Reconcile physical stock with balance on stack cards and immediately reports any discrepancy.Identify infested commodities and initiates appropriate intervention by spraying and/ or fumigation.Carry out regular inspection of the store and reports any anomaly.Initiate certification of unfit food commodities and ensures removal of the same from the store upon receipt of disposal/condemnation instructions.Ensure that all disposals are performed as per standing procedures and properly document them.Prepare report on unusable empty tins, bags, pallets and carry out disposal upon authorization.Ensure safekeeping and accurate documentation of WFP and third party non-food items in the warehouse.Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Sub Officer or his/her designate.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  The ideal candidate for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) job should hold a good University Degree or a diploma in Stores Management, Accounts plus knowledge of storekeeping or any other related field, attained from a recognized institution.A minimum of three years relevant working experience in statistics, administration, accounting or any related field, gained from a reputable organization;Proficiency in both oral and written English is essential;Good working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications is necessary.All suitably qualified Ugandan nationals are encouraged to send their applications together with detailed curriculum vitae, copies of certificates under confidential cover quoting on the envelop the vacancy announcement number and name of the applicant to:The Human Resources Officer, UN World Food Programme, P.O.
