FHI 360 serves more than 60 countries.FHI 360 is seeks to implement an anticipated USAID-funded regional Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) project in the Western and Central regions of Uganda. The project will work to increase access to and utilization of core services for orphaned and vulnerable children, youth and their caregivers. Services to be strengthened include health, nutrition, education, psychosocial well-being, and child protection (reducing abuse, exploitation and neglect). Job Summary: The USAID OVC Project Finance and Operations Director will be responsible for financial and administrative aspects of the project, including budget development and monitoring, prime award monitoring and compliance, sub award management, procurement, and logistics. The Finance and Operations Director will also establish and maintain sound financial management practices, and ensure the project’s compliance with FHI 360 and USAID procedures, rules and regulations. Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The applicant for this USAID OVC Project job opportunity should hold a Master's Degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration or related field is required.At least eight years of relevant experience in financial management, including overseeing the finance and operations of equally large and complex projects. Five or more years’ experience in managing sub grants.Familiarity with Unites States Government rules and regulations is required.Detailed working knowledge in generally-accepted accounting, budgeting and fiscal control principlesRelevant skills in automated accounting software systems and database spreadsheetsPast exposure and experience building capacity in financial management of community-based organizations and implementing partners.Proven ability to create and maintain effective working relations with NGO partners, community-based organizations and international donor agencies.Excellent interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills in English.Possess the ability to work independently and manage a high volume work flowFHI 360 invites qualified candidates who should physically submit a cover letter, CV/resume including salary requirements to: The Human Resource Office, FHI 360 - Plot 15 Kitante Close, P.O Box 5768 Kampala, UgandaNB: Please indicate the title of the position on the application envelope.Deadline: Friday 14th November 2014.
