Job Summary:
To initiate, develop, implement and monitor all resource mobilization activities both at national and branch level and in line with URCS approved strategies and guidelines with the aim of attaining sustainability and self reliance.
Specific Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Develops strategic fund-raising/resource mobilization work plan and budgets for URCS at both national and branch level.
• Develops implements and manages fund-raising /resource mobilization activities and projects for the National Society.
• Co-ordinates, monitors and supports all fund-raising/resource mobilization projects.
• Accountable for and reports on all department’s budget and activities.
• Responsible for planning and budgeting for required financial resources.
• Launch fundraising appeals to pertinent stakeholders on behalf of the URCS to support it with resources to enhance the humanitarian cause.
• Ensures good corporate resource mobilization relationships.

Requirement:

Minimum qualifications and working experience:
Bachelors Degree and higher education in Marketing, Project Management and Planning, International Business, Bachelor of Business Administration or its equivalent. Additional professional qualification or certification to a relevant international professional association is desired. Competences in resource mobilization/fundraising. The job holder should have a wide knowledge of the Society’s ideology, values, principals and the activities carried out in the national service delivery network. Innovative person with high sense of conceptualization of issues and opportunities, resilience, interpersonal skills and endurance. Four years experience with at least 2 years experience in a relevant position, preferably in a humanitarian or business organization.

HEAD OF CORPORATE CREDIT

Main Scope of Duties and Responsibilities:

Approval of credit applications, transactions, exceptions and other extension of credit within his delegated credit approval authority and as required by the banks credit policies and procedures.
Ensure that the bank’s overall credit underwritings are in strict adherence to the relevant regulatory requirements.
Support the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) in establishing and embedding a strong risk management culture, which promotes good and thorough analysis, sound judgment, undoubted integrity of processes and decisions, well thought out flexibility and appropriate balance between risk and reward, within the bank.
Monitor and manage the credit portfolio under his direct responsibility in a manner that sustains a high credit quality and minimizes non performing loans.
On an ongoing basis, participate in the coaching and training of credit officers, products specialists and relationship managers.
Reports directly to the Chief Credit Officer (CCO).

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

Minimum of ten (10 - 13 years) years relevant lending and credit-related experience, the last three (3) years of which are in a credit approval role.
Appropriate risk training, including an acceptable course in early problem recognition and remedial management
Experience in different business, functional and/or geographic environments.
Sound knowledge of the relevant customer, industry and product range.
Remedial management experience.
Acceptable track record with respect to individual exposures and/or portfolios that have been approved by the individual or have been under his or her responsibility.

Technical Credit Skills

Sound knowledge of credit policies and practices and the ability to apply them in practice.
Sound knowledge of macroeconomic factors and country/sovereign risks and policies.
Sound knowledge of portfolio management techniques and risk rating policies.
Sound knowledge of the legal environment and documentation requirements.

Risk Assessment Skills

Superior credit risk assessment skills, including counterparty analysis, transaction origination and structuring, early problem recognition and effective remedial management.
Sound knowledge of credit risk planning and monitoring, including target marketing, portfolio planning, and scenario planning.
Sound knowledge of price, liquidity and underwriting risks and of market risk policies.
Sensitivity to and awareness of strategic, franchise, reputation and compliance risks.

Personal Characteristics

Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is an international non-profit, public health organisation with headquarters in the USA, whose purpose is to strengthen health programs worldwide. STRIDES for Family Health, one of MSH’s Projects in Uganda has a mandate to strengthen the capacity of health systems in fifteen (15) selected districts.

STRIDES now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:

Job Title: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Specialist- based in Kampala

The CSR Specialist is responsible for providing support to increase and improve linkages between the STRIDES project and the private sector and ensuring that companies have a stake in contributing to the good health and well-being of their communities. S/he will explore CSR partnership and funding opportunities with private sector companies and identify mutual areas for support and/or collaboration.

S/he will develop the identified areas for partnerships into concepts and eventually into fundable projects, and monitors the implementation of such projects while providing regular feedback to STRIDES and the collaborating company on the results of the project. S/he performs a full range of programmatic, financial management, planning and monitoring functions which are critical to the smooth operation of the CSR private sector initiative. S/he will also manage the smooth fl ow of communication between the companies and STRIDES, and set up a system for recording relevant CSR contributions from collaborating companies in compliance with the applicable USAID regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting and Auditing Standards.

Qualifications:
1) Degree in Business Administration or other relevant field.
2) At least five years work experience in resource mobilization and proposal development.
3) Strong analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
4) Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse set of corporate companies, senior managers, and project partners.
