Reports to: Secretary, Equal Opportunities Commission
Minimum Qualifications
(i) Either an Honors Bachelors Degree in Either Finance and Accounting or Commerce(Accounting option) or Business Administration (Accounting option) or full professional accounting qualifications like ACCA, CPA or CIMA or auditing qualifications from a recognized Institution.
(ii) Post graduate Diploma in Auditing or Financial Management and knowledge of computerized accounting will be an added advantage.
(iii) A minimum of two (2) years working experience at the level of an Internal Auditor in Government or equivalent experience from a reputable organization.
(iv) The following competencies are required:-
a) Auditing
b) Financial management
c) Communicating effectively
d) Computer Literacy
e) Ethics and Integrity
Duties and Responsibilities
i) Auditing the Commission's funds.
ii) Identifying major financial and accounting systems, recording and testing them,
iii) Reviewing Internal Control procedures and systems
to assess their adequacy and compliance, iv) Examining, verifying and safeguarding assets within the Commission, v) Verifying and validating payments before the payment is authorized, vi) Providing guidance and advice to the Secretary on proper financial procedures and regulations, vii) Carrying out detailed examination of financial transactions, viii) Conducting systems audit and risk management to: mitigate loss/inefficiency in order to improve financial management.
ix) Compiling and submitting periodic reports x) Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
