Save the Children seeks to fill the following vacant positions and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Persons for the operations.


Program Manager GREAT, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Gender Based Violence (1 Position); Gulu


Job Purpose:


The Program Manager SRH and GBV is overall responsible for the GREAT and FACT Projects in northern Uganda. The job holder takes overall responsibility for the program management, including planning, starting up implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting on the GREAT & REAL Project in the region.


The person supports the project Specialist, Senior Officers and partners to improve Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Reduce gender Based violence in Northern Uganda while maintaining close consultation with the Health Advisor, other health thematic Managers, Programme Team and Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager in line with Save the Children policies and guidelines.


The Program Manager may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.


Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications;


·Minimum of a bachelor s degree in Health related field, Social Science or Development studies. Experience in Gender Programming and in Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health or programming will be an added advantage. Postgraduate training/Advanced degree in Health related field, Social sciences/social works, ASRH or Management is an added advantage


·Minimum of 5 years working experience in Health /HIV/AIDS related program or protection in Uganda (preferably with an International NGO).


·Strategic thinking and planning skills, be able to set priorities, prepare manageable plans and to evaluate progress.


·Ability to speak local language (Luo) and directly interact with target group will be an added advantage


General specifications applicable to all positions;


·Experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added advantage.


·Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.


·Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.


·Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.


·Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.


·Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.


·Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures


·Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.


·Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching


·Excellent time management and planning capacity.


·Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
