The Role


You will be responsible for managing and setting up management, financial, compliance and risk management controls for NU-HITES (North Uganda – Health Integration to Enhance Services) project. NU-HITES aims to increase the availability and demand for essential health services in 15 project districts while strengthening and improving the overall quality of Northern Uganda’s health system. The project seeks to strengthen the district-based integrated package of quality health services to improve and sustain the health and nutritional status of northern Uganda populations. This is a major project – value of US 55 million and total staff count of 15 direct staff and 5 sub-grantee organizations.


You will be responsible to ensure that a cost-effective project is delivered and accounted for in accordance with relevant USAID regulations and in line with Plan financial management policies. The Finance Director will have complete oversight of project systems, processes and controls.


The Person


We’re looking for an exceptional Finance Manager, with extensive experience of working on international development projects, especially with USAID. US GAAP and IFRS are required and extensive knowledge of key USG regulations is preferred. A knowledge of the Ugandan or East African context would be an advantage.

Type of Role:5 year fixed term contract


Location: Gulu, Plan Uganda with travel to districts through the Northern Region of Uganda and Kampala as necessary.


Reports to:Chief of Party for the NU-HITES project.


Salary:Grade E. This is an accompanied position and a full expat package will be available.
