University
Ndejje University is a private,
multi-campus, Christian university in Uganda, the third-largest economy in the
East African Community. Ndejje University was established in 1992 under the
Name and Style of “The Christian University of East Africa” under the
pioneer-ship and ownership of Professor Reverend Doctor Sams Kironde Kigozi.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide
leadership and overall management of the Academic Registrar’s Department. - Manage
all academic matters, admission, and registration of Undergraduate and
Graduate Students. - Manage
the maintenance and development of the students’ records system. This
involves overseeing the implementation and development of technical and
operational systems for managing student’s enrolment, matriculation,
registration, assessment, progress and graduation. - Ensure
the provision of relevant, accurate and detailed student data to support a
wide variety of academic and administrative processes including monitoring
procedures, internal and external reporting requirements. - Responsible
for coordination and management of all University Examination Processes,
Research, Graduate Studies, Regulations, Syllabai and Staff Development. - The
incumbent will serve as the Secretary to Senate and all its Committees. - Responsible
for production of academic transcripts and certificates. - Ensure
proper management of academic programmes. - Ensure
that academic ceremonies such as graduation are successfully organized. - Responsible
for collaborative leakages with institutions and organizations whose
mandate relates of University Education. - Perform
any other related duties that may be assigned by the Vice Chancellor
and/or Deputy Vice Chancellor as and when deemed necessary.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
Academic Registrar should hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree from a
recognized institution and a Master’s Degree or an equivalent professional
qualification from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning. Possession
of a Master Degree in Education Management/Administration or a PhD will be
an added advantage. - At
least ten years working experience, five of which must be at senior
management level from a reputable institution of Higher learning. - Prior
experience in Curriculum development, teaching, research and publication. - The
applicant must be industrious and self-driven - Must
be ready to work under stress for long hours - Good
track record of impeccable integrity - Highly
computer literate - Excellent
interpersonal relationship and communication skills. - Good
track record of successful supervisory experience in a people oriented
environment. - Detailed
knowledge and understanding of the application of technology to deliver records
and registration services - A
positive attitude and ability to work with faculties and departments to
form a functional team. - Actively
participate in professional development activities and serving on faculty
committees.
