Reports

to:
Registrar General


The Uganda Registration Services Bureau

(URSB) is established as a Statutory Body under the Uganda Registration

Services Bureau Act Cap. 210,  Laws of

Uganda 2000 Edition. The Bureau is a key player in commercial and civil

registrations that facilitate private sector development and vital statistics

for national planning.


Key

Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
The

incumbent will be in charge of arranging the business at meetings of the Board

with clear  notices of meeting times and

places


·        
Taking

minutes of the meetings of the Board.


·        
The

incumbent will be keeping the records of the decisions and other policy records

of the board.


·        
Manage

and monitor the progress of all legal proceedings including litigation and

alternative dispute resolution.


·        
Offer

legal counsel on drafting employment contracts


·        
Ensure

all formal communication between the Registrar General and the Board members go

through his/her office.


·        
In

charge of preparing reports for the Board.


·        
Perform

any other duty as assigned by the Registrar General.


Key

Performance Indicators:


·        
Notices

of meeting times, places and agenda made.


·        
Minutes

taken and records kept.


·        
Legal

proceedings monitored and advice provided.


·        
Employment

contracts are drafted.


·        
Reports

prepared.


Qualifications,

Skills and Experience: 


·        
The Board

Secretary must hold an Honors’ University Degree in Laws and a Post Graduate

Diploma in Legal Practice. Possession of a Master’s Degree is an added advantage


·        
Possession

of ICSA is mandatory


·        
At

least five years’ experience in a busy reputable organization.


·        
Computer

literacy skills


·        
Comprehensive

knowledge of legal advocacy


·        
Good

interpersonal skills
