The Uganda Registration Services Bureau

(URSB) is established as a Statutory Body under the Uganda Registration

Services Bureau Act Cap. 210, Laws of Uganda 2000 Edition. The Bureau is a key

player in commercial and civil registrations that facilitate private sector

development and vital statistics for national planning.


The Government of Uganda has received

credit from the World Bank towards implementation of the Competitive and

Enterprise Development Project (CEDP). The project development objective (PDO)

is to improve the competitiveness of enterprises in Uganda through supporting

reforms in priority productive and service sectors geared towards a better

investment climate with particular focus on MSMEs. The five-year project comprises

of four major components and will be implemented by seven agencies. However,

the overall coordination of the Project will lie with the Private Sector

Foundation Uganda (PSFU) through a Project Coordination Unit (PCU).


Job

Summary
: The Project

Support Officer provides technical assistance to the Project Management team,

to help them deliver on the project outcomes on time, within budget and to high

levels of quality.


Key

Duties and Responsibilities:


·        
Providing

administrative and project support and assistance to Project Management team


·        
Updating

plans and assisting with preparation of reports


·        
Supporting

the project management team in reporting and forecasting


·        
Responsible

for ensuring adequate facilitation of project meetings and other relevant

forums on request including invitations, facilities booking, agenda production,

minute
taking and

issuing.


·        
Maintains

project calendar.


·        
Arranges

project
related

travel and/or events.


·        
Generates

or distributes ad hoc reports using various business systems and databases.


·        
Generates

simple documents, such as letters, memos, spreadsheets and presentations.


·        
Support

the Project Team in the planning and execution of work schedules, project

reviews, and project/programme highlight reports.


·        
Responsible

for ensuring that all project documentation is stored logically and securely in

accordance with agreed document management processes.


·        
Render

support in the procurement of goods and services, including raising

requisitions, tracking purchase orders, processing receipts, budget monitoring

and maintenance of all associated records.


·        
Work

closely with all parties on issues that arise during the project life cycle.


Qualifications,

Skills and Experience:


·        
The

applicant should hold an Honors Degree in Public Administration, Political Science,

public relations, Social Sciences, Law or equivalent from a recognized

university. Possession of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration or

Planning and Management discipline is an added advantage.


·        
Three

or more years working experience gained with a reputable government/ public

institution or private or donor funded organization, with vast knowledge of

government policies and private sector.


·        
The

ideal candidate must have good evidence of working within a Project

environment, with a strong administrative background to support.


·        
Possess

the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet tight

deadlines


·        
Ability

to plan, organize and coordinate


·        
Excellent

word processing, spreadsheet, database and internet research skills. Strong


·        
Microsoft

Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills are required.


·        
Excellent

problem solving, negotiation and follow
up
