Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
The Procurement Officer will be in charge of
identifying suppliers of goods and services who are able to deliver to
prescribed procurement guidelines and product specifications and present these
to the section manager for vetting and approval
·
Update and maintain the supplier database
accordingly
·
Responsible for building and maintain long term
supplier partnerships with new and existing vendors
·
Re-negotiate and ensure valid contracts
·
Maintain continuous communication with suppliers on
business issues that impact them
·
Develop and implement SLA’s with user departments
·
Actively monitor and improve partner satisfaction
·
Receive, users’ requisitions for goods and services
and check to confirm that they are as per the procurement guidelines
·
In charge of preparing Request for Information, Request for Quotation and Request for Proposals,
in line with users’ specifications and Procurement guidelines, and issue to
service providers
·
Receive proposals, Bills of Quantities and
quotations
·
Keenly analyse the quotations, secure approval and
communicate with the department contact persons, to facilitate the raising of
quotations in oracle.
·
Process documentation including purchase orders and
procurement related communication
·
In charge of preparing the stock forecast report and
plan for stock
·
Work closely with IT for data to send to the supplier
for timely production and delivery of stock
·
Work in liaison with the clearing and forwarding
agent to clear sim and scratch cards
·
Inspect stock on delivery to ensure it meets group
approved samples
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·
The ideal Procurement Officer should preferably hold
a Degree or diploma in a business related field
·
Professional procurement qualification such as CIPS
·
At least three years practical experience in a
procurement function
·
Excellent negotiations skills
·
Accustomed to working in fast moving and changing
environments and to deadlines.
·
Excellent computer knowledge
·
Fluency in English and or French
·
Strong ethics, hands on approach
·
Able to operate in a performance driven environment
·
Business focused
·
Planning and organisation skills
·
Attention to detail and follow through
·
Excellent oral and written communication skills
·
Good working knowledge of document administration
·
Highly self-motivated
·
Excellent problem solving skills
