Medecins Sans Frontieres is an independent

international humanitarian organization which supports victims of war,

displaced and disable people in situation of armed conflicts.


Job Summary:  The Protocol Office Administrator will oversee

all administration activities for MSF entities in Uganda.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure

    to get legal status for all expatriates from all MSF entities and their

    dependants with regards to work permits, identity card and any other pass

    when needed, in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Ensure

    timely submission and follow up of requests for exemption of custom duties

    at Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a timely and efficient manner.

  • The

    incumbent will also ensure submission and follow up of request of VAT

    refund by URA in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Build

    and maintain close external working relationship with relevant Government

    authorities including Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Uganda

    Revenue Authority.

  • Ensure

    good archives maintenance as well as follow-up of the guidelines.

  • Upon

    request, draft correspondences to be validated.

  • The

    incumbent will also be responsible for reporting regularly about issues

    and achievements.

  • Perform

    any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The

    ideal employee for MSF should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree or

    master degree in public administration, public Law, international relation

    or equivalent.

  • At

    least two years’ experience in administrative work and Public Relations

  • Fluent

    English – French an asset

  • Good

    public relations and communication skills

  • Skills

    in file administration

  • Computer

    literacy skills with good knowledge of MS-Office (eg: Excel, Word).

  • Mature

    and self-reliant.

  • Excellent

    organizational skills.

  • High

    degree of confidentiality and integrity

  • Open-mind

    person with ability to listen, diplomatic, service and solution oriented,

    initiative, resourcefulness, patient and pushing on.

  • Flexibility,

    ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment.
