the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.


Job Summary:  The National Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

(M&E Manager) will provide clarity, definition and synchronism to Samaritan’s

Purse’s M&E systems, and processes. The incumbent will support programs by

providing monitoring and evaluation tools to assess progress against agreed

objectives. S/he will promote the best practices of the organization by

capturing the critical lessons learned and ensuring that Samaritan’s Purse

policies and guidelines are adhered to. The M&E Manager will steer and

support assessments and operational research for contextual understanding,

identifying opportunities, vulnerabilities, capacities and resources, deciding

feasibility and setting priorities. A key role will be to support the program

and technical teams in the development of design documents and logical

frameworks that prioritize needs established during assessments and secondary data

analysis. The incumbent will develop an M&E system consistent with Samaritan’s

Purse strategy and guidelines. S/he will be in charge of a data entry, storage,

analysis and advising the team on whether they are in line with the findings.

The M&E Manager will also be conducting advanced statistical analysis when

required. He / she will also render support the management and accountability

through routine, accurate collection and reporting of information that confirms

status of program activities based on logframes.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • The

    incumbent will carry out Monitoring and Evaluation training and mentoring

    for National Program Managers and their Project Management M&E staff.

  • Render

    support and support in the design of project-specific monitoring and

    evaluation strategies, while using the tools developed in the Program

    Management Guidelines.

  • Train

    and/or participate in rapid or baseline-assessments which serve as a basis

    for validation of outcomes of all program activities.

  • Support

    in strategic and spiritual development of country office as required.

  • Demonstrate

    exemplary Christian servant leadership in all aspects of work and

    relationships.

  • Carry

    out any other duties as designated by the Deputy Country Director.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The

    M&E Manager should possess a Bachelor’s degree preferably in

    International Development, Economics or Statistics and/or any other

    related field.

  • The

    applicant should have a minimum of five years’ experience in Monitoring

    and Evaluation (M&E) for development and emergency projects.

  • Possess

    excellent computer skills including statistical analysis using SPSS, MS

    Access, STATA, Excel, Epi Info, as well as data analysis, report writing,

    and project design skills.

  • Detailed

    knowledge and understanding of survey methodology and experience

    implementing surveys with various sampling methodologies (cluster, LQAS,

    etc.).

  • Be

    a team leader and results-oriented,

  • Fluency

    on both spoken and written English

  • Excellent

    communication skills and able to train different teams.

  • S/he

    should maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be a

    consistent witness for Him. One year of college-level Biblical studies is

    an added advantage.
