Save the Children seeks to fill the following vacant positions and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Persons for the operations.
Senior Officer Child Protection (1 Position); Nakasongola
Job Purpose:
The job holder is responsible for providing on-going capacity support and coordination of the project partners with project planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting. The Senior Officer is responsible for the direct supervision of Child Protection activities, providing on-going, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting in regard to the execution of activities within the vulnerable communities targeted by Save the Children. The post holder is specifically oriented towards Child Protection activities and special attention will be made of the Child Protection sector in other core sectors of the organisation such as child rights, nutrition, health and education. The job holder may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.
Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications;
Minimum of degree in humanities, international relations/ development, or a related field;Minimum of 3 years relevant experience working with NGOs; skills in leadership and supervision;Must be willing to extensively travel to the field.General specifications applicable to all positions;
Experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added advantage.Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and culturesAbility to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coachingExcellent time management and planning capacity.Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.Application information;
