Organisation: Joint Medical Store (JMS)Reports to: Manager OperationsJoint Medical Store (JMS) is a Church founded private Not-For-Profit organization whose mission is to supply medicines, medical equipment and related healthcare services, and training of assured quality to the people of Uganda at affordable prices.Job Summary: The Head of Projects will be responsible for efficient logistical and warehouse management operations at the assigned warehouse facilities.Key Duties and Responsibilities:  In charge of developing and reviewing procedures for warehouse activities in order to ensure that they are current at all times.Oversee the order management team to ensure that facility distribution deadlines are met at all times.Intuitively review received orders to ensure that correct combinations of medical commodities were ordered and where necessary provide technical guidance to relevant facilities.Actively monitor the volume of operations on a quarterly basis and advise management on space requirements.Investigate and explain stock take discrepancies after cycle counts so that corrective action is taken to maintain the discrepancies within acceptable range.Intuitively monitor the stock shelf life following the laid down procedures in order to minimize the risk of stock expiry through initiating corrective action in time.Compile and send monthly stock movement reports for different programs in compliance with program reporting requirements.Manage operations at the assigned warehouse facility in a way that promotes safety and security at the premises.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  The Head of Projects should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or related discipline.Professional qualification in supplies and logistics management e.g. CIPS will be an added advantage.A minimum of five or more years relevant work experience two of which should have been spent at supervisor level in a busy warehouse or logistics environment.Hands-on experience in using automated warehouse management system and ERP applications.Highly dependable, honest, impeccable integrityGood team player with strong interpersonal skillsWell-developed oral, written (report writing) communication skillsHighly self-motivated, able to prioritize work and follow up tasks and issues to the endKeen attention to detail with strong numeric and quantitative skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsComputer proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email)All candidates should send their applications including photocopies of academic certificates, Curriculum Vitae, names of three professional referees (who are not relatives), and a day-time telephone contacts should be addressed to:The Head of Human Resource and AdministrationPlot 1828 Gogonya Road, NsambyaP.O.
