In 2013, we reached over 143 million children through our work around 52m directly and 91 million indirectly around the world.Job Summary: The Save the Children Program Specialist – DCR will be responsible for the planning, implementation, management and leadership of the DCR Pamoja Project. DCR is a rehabilitative project that focuses on basic health and education service delivery, livelihoods, community governance and sectoral systems strengthening in Northern and Eastern Region. The Specialist takes the lead in coordinating with partners, planning, implementation and monitoring of project activities as well as compiling the plans, budget and project reports for the targeted regions.  In addition, the person is responsible for identifying partners, providing leadership to partners and the project teams in the region. The Specialist may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  The ideal candidate for the Save the Children Program Specialist Job Vacancy should hold a Bachelors' Degree in social sciences, social work and social administration, development studies, education or any relevant field. Possession of a Post Graduate training in Project Management, Community Development is an added advantage. Detailed working knowledge of the educational needs of children in Uganda, including Early Childhood Development Education, Basic education and other related programming and policy development.At least six years’ experience with at least three years in a middle management position in an International NGO particularly those applying partnership approaches, livelihood and addressing children’s rights.
