We promote societies whose individuals and institutions participate in valuing, protecting and advancing the worth and rights of children.Child Fund Uganda has won an award on the Deinstitutionalization of Orphans and Vulnerable Children, this project is a 3-year period (36 months) Project implemented by a consortium of partners namely; ChildFund International, TPO Uganda, Child's I Foundation and Retrak. The key goals of the project are to strengthen national child protection systems in order to prevent unnecessary family separation and enable children outside of families to be placed in family or family based care.Job Summary: The Senior Social Worker will technically support in managing and supervising project staff to ensure effective implementation of activities and will play a key role in providing technical assistance to the partner's project staff to achieve the project objectives. The incumbent will work closely with the partners and the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development to implement the Project.Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Offer supervision to social workers in the project planning and timely implementation and performance of all project activities, ensuring that outputs are accomplished and delivered according to the agreed work plans;Provide technical guidance and support for implementation of policies, programmes and plans for resettlement, Alternative care and protection of vulnerable children in compliance with relevant legislation and contractual requirements;Develop training materials and capacity building to social welfare front line workers, CSO partners, Children institutions ,care givers and community members and other service providers on child care and protection;Offer technical support supervision to the project staff, children Institutions, CSOs and relevant project partners;Offer technical guidance and facilitate tracing and resettling of children and ensure adherence to procedures concerning fostering and adopting children as well as in probation service issues.Build and maintain the growth of a strong and sustainable collaboration, networking and partnerships for effective project implementation at district, national and regional level;Manage the documentation of all project activities, tasks, achievements and success stories;Conduct house hold and child vulnerability assessments, monitor and evaluate project activities, interventions, impact and implemented sustainability measures;Actively coordinate timely and quality production and submission of narratives and financial reports according to donor agreementsRender support in planning and tracking expenses against approved budgets and review financial reporting for approval prior to submission to donors and ensures timely financial reporting to donors.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  The applicants should hold a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration or relevant field. Possession of a Post graduate Diploma in Social Justice or Project Planning and Management will be an added advantage.A minimum of five years’ work experience at senior managerial level in a big donor funded organizations, NGOs, or government sector.Working knowledge of child development, Policy on Vulnerable and Orphan Children, UN convention on the Rights of a Child.Strong understanding of USAID rules and regulations governing USG funded programsExcellent financial management skillsStrategic information management skillsStrong coaching, facilitation and conceptual skills.At least three (3) years in a supervisory role.Demonstrable aptitude in teamwork.Possess the ability to take fast decisions.Excellent interpersonal Skills.Good people management skills.All interested candidates should send their applications including detailed Curriculum Vitae, academic and professional papers and names of three professional referees with their Email/ daytime telephone contacts to: The National Director, ChildFund International, P.O.
