Stanbic is a subsidiary of Standard bank Group, an International bank whose headquarters are in Johannesburg, South Africa.Job Summary: The Stanbic Bank Manager Security will be responsible for the Bank’s physical and other security operations. The job holder also aims at ensuring tight security standards and disciplines are observed and entrenched across the Bank with the objective of influencing sustainable and efficient operations in line with Standard Bank Group security standards and regulatory guidelines. The incumbent will also provide strategic oversight and risk management for the security function.Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Researches, develops and recommends strategic interventions for security operations with the aim of improving the bank’s security Actively monitors key security trends in the banking sector both locally and internationally and the external environment as a whole, and disseminates the same.Researches, develops and implements security interventions to continuously improve the bank’s securityAligns relevant security processes and procedures to ensure the achievement of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) signed with the various business units and customers Stakeholder Management – Foster and maintain a close working relationship with the Bank’s Executive Committee members, Branch and Unit Heads management and Suppliers of goods and services so as to ensure that service/ support and strategic objectives of the bank are consistently met and exceeded.Operational Performance: Security Operations including;Physical security (business, employees, customers, vendors)Electronic security channelsCash servicesRisk managementOperations support managementProcesses and procedures review and updatingSupport in identifying risks affecting the security function within overall group security framework.Seek compliance based on risk matrix, staff awareness and education, security scoring and controls by ensuring that correct systems and procedures are implemented to reduce this risk.Ensure that routine checklists are actioned to ensure their adequacy and effectiveness. Action risk assurance and audit findings within agreed time frames.Drive for improved routine control and audit ratings through team member motivation and coaching.Actively participate in BCP programs to ensure adequacy of ergonomics.Influence a reduction in controllable costs through involvement in the preparation and compilation of security headcount and expenditure budgetsDevelopment and implementation of tactical initiatives to reduce costs and ensuring that budgets for Security are met.Identification of opportunities for cost savings in security whilst maintaining the risk profile of the bankManagement of the security budget to ensure that the costs are kept within budget for the unitActively engage business to formulate and all rounded Security & OHS policy rollout & seek compliance of the laid down policy & regulation for all PORsEnsure asset movement is in line with bank policy by verification and final approval of such movements.Ensures effective, efficient and optimal utilization of all resources (human and capital) to be responsive to competitive pressures, changing market conditions, client needs and business strategiesCapacity management, identifying areas with excess or shortage in capacity and coming up with resourcing plans to address the gapsOperational Performance – Processes and Procedures:Take lead in the documentation, standardization, implementation and continuous improvement of country security operations processes and procedures.Continuous evaluation of operational security efficiencies and incorporation of best practiceControlIdentification and assessment of risks facing security thereby providing effective loss and risk management and so minimizing the operational risksWork closely with business stakeholders in ensuring that security regulatory, group policy standards and minimum operating procedures are observed to minimize the Bank’s exposure Lead and manage direct reports, provide guidance and coaching and ensure clear understanding of deliverables.Maintain development plans for direct reports.Put in place focused performance agreements for the security function based on SCM objectives and Security Charter scope.Provide oversight of the overall Bank Security function with direct responsibility for Head office buildings and HSS compliance in PORs.Occupational Safety and SecurityEnsure all business units are adequately and appropriately secured by means of alarms, guards where necessary, bullet proof glass, access restriction devices, CCTV, etc.Check that all security systems are functional and are regularly tested in line with Group Security Standards.Ensure compliance with both Group and local Occupational Health and Safety legislationOversee and conduct investigations for all incidents for reporting to Directorate of Occupational Health.Ensure the analysis, due process and implementation of security projectsPost project analysis and feedbackIdentifies appropriate formal and occupational (informal) training needs and courses (internal/external) to develop oneselfUp-Skills oneself regarding new products and procedures through attendance of workshops/presentations and reading of internal and external communicationsQualifications, Skills and Experience:  The ideally candidate for the Standard Bank job should be a University Graduate.Professional certification or experience from the disciplined forces in criminal investigations / forensics.Business Knowledge and ContributionPast knowledge in Security OperationsSkills in Operations Risk Management skills Working financial management knowledge and skills Banking knowledgePrior Security OperationsSkills in strategy generation and implementationExcellent interpersonal competenciesServing Our Customers Working in TeamsCommunicating with Impact Building RelationshipsLeadership/ People Management Enabling ChangePersonal CompetenciesActing with IntegrityGrowing Our People Being Proactive Guarding against Arrogance Problem Solving Style - Problem assessment & Systemic thinkingRespecting each other All suitably qualified candidates should visit the web link below and create a profile on the NFT Consult website by entering their e-mail addresses.
