Organisation: European Union (EU)Reports to: Head of AdministrationThe European Union (EU) is a unique economic and political partnership between 28 European countries that together cover much of the continent. The EU was created in the aftermath of the Second World War. The first steps were to foster economic cooperation: the idea being that countries who trade with one another become economically interdependent and so more likely to avoid conflict. The result was the European Economic Community (EEC), created in 1958, and initially increasing economic cooperation between six countries: Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Since then, a huge single market has been created and continues to develop towards its full potential.Job Summary: The European Union Administration Assistant – Security will support the Head of Administration in providing general administrative and security activities. The incumbent will work closely with the Head of Administration (HoA), the Delegation Security Coordinator (DSC) and Regional Security Officer (RSO) to implement in practice all the techniques of risk management related to the security and protection of the staff of the Delegation, its assets and facilities. Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Conduct risk assessments on facilities, assets and services contracted or property of the EUSupport in promoting operational procedures, safety measures and contingency plan implemented in the security plans (SOP's and CP's)Draft monthly reports regarding the safety measures for the staff and the facilities of the EUUnder the supervision of the HoA and DSC, monitor execution and performance of the security contractsSupport the DSC to develop and implement trainings for staff and awareness in matter of securityUnder the supervision of the DSC, maintain contacts with governmental authoritiesActively monitor permanently the security situation at national level and report to the DSC Realise security assessments of the zones and regions where EU is implementing cooperation project and inform the DSC, HoA and RSOUnder the instruction of the HoA, maintain updated the inventories of the security equipment (satellite phones, radios, telephones, protective equipment, etc) as well as all the related documents (Radio network/call signs, Warden System, etc) Routinely inform the HoA of all the security system failures (CCTV system, card readers, access control system, opening of doors, fire alarms, etc.) Under instruction of the HoA, realise security assessment of potential houses to be occupied by EU staff according to the instructions of the RSOPerform any other function related to security or administrative tasks as assigned by the HoA Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  The ideal candidate for the European Union job opportunity should have completed higher education At least two years of relevant experience, preferably in an international environment.
