Longhorn Publishers, a leading firm with a strong presence in Eastern

Africa region whose core business is publishing and distributing educational

and leisure publications.


Key Duties and

Responsibilities: 

  • In charge of ensuring and maintaining all

    established cash controls.

  • Responsible for the preparation of P &

    T returns

  • In charge of managing and issuing of

    stocks

  • Responsible for office petty cash management

  • Process supplier invoices and payments.

  • Maintain the purchase order system.

  • Handle all company related activities

    disbursements.

  • The Accounts Assistant will handle all travel

    requests and review expense reports from sales representatives.

  • Handle all sales invoices and collections

    accordingly.

  • Technically support the preparation of

    monthly and annual financial statements.

  • Process all tax matters e.g. PAYE, VAT,

    WHT, Corporation Tax.

  • Render support in the preparation of

    annual audit schedules and coordinate the audit activity.  


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate should preferably be a

    Ugandan Citizen who holds a Degree/Diploma in a Finance related field

  • At least two years’ relevant experience

  • Computer literacy skills i.e. working

    knowledge in ERP and Ms Office packages. Knowledge of Navision will be an

    added advantage

  • Possess the ability to work with minimum

    supervision
