War Child Canada is an international non-governmental organization which

is helping mothers and families around the world give their children a safe

start in life and give their communities the best chance of a peaceful future. Children

represent both the immediate present and the society’s future, which is why

protecting those childhoods is the key to breaking the cycle of violence. When

war breaks out, children look to those close to them for protection.


Job Summary:  The Social worker will be primarily working

directly with SGBV survivors, community and actors to ensure effective

protection, referral and service provision. The Social worker should be able to

manage a caseload of especially vulnerable women and children from refugee and

host communities.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • In charge of receiving, registering, and

    managing clients and their files.

  • Steering interventions in protected spaces

    for SGBV survivors.

  • Technically supporting survivors and their

    families who are receiving legal services with War Child Canada.

  • Work closely with the Protection and Legal

    officer in providing support to the vulnerable clients and their families.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience:  


  • The applicants must preferably hold a Diploma

    in Social Work (Degree in Social Work is an added advantage).

  • At least two years’ experience working

    with vulnerable women and children. Experience working with refugee

    populations is an advantage.

  • Fluency in English and local language is

    essential.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication

    skills.

  • Possess the ability to prepare timely,

    periodic and quality project reports
