Job Summary:  The Area Manager will provide leadership through

Planning, Implementation, Evaluation, Management of relationship with both

Internal and external stakeholders, coaching of team and development, ownership

of infrastructure & processes aimed at Trade Marketing and Distribution

(TM&D) excellence with an overall objective of driving commercial results

and maintain alignment with Uganda TM&D marketing strategy. The incumbent

will steer growth by providing guidance and focus through establishment of

clear goals consistent with overall TM&D strategy for his distributor and

Area Team, drive productivity by ensuring that his/ her team makes commercial

decisions that impact positively on both short term and long term bottom line

results through leveraging on risks and opportunities, drive responsibility by

ensuring that team and distributor act within laws and all activities are

guided by regulatory guidelines, and drive a winning organisation by building

enthusiasm, change, passion, team development and coaching.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience:          

  • The ideal candidate for the BAT Area

    Manager vacancy should hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Business

    degree in Business Administration / Marketing;

  • Possession of An MBA and professional

    marketing qualifications are an added advantage;

  • A minimum of six or more years’ experience

    in an FMCG category. Should have held position of Area Manager of similar;

  • At least four years of trade marketing and

    distribution management with good knowledge of trade marketing and

    distribution management best practice and demand forecasting;

  • Proven people leadership skills with

    ability to motivate and energise field force team.

  • Desirable requirements       

  • Broad knowledge and understanding of

    Supply Chain & Finance
