Global Health Corps pairs intelligent and

passionate fellows with organizations that require new thinking and innovative

solutions. We provide these young leaders with the tools to remain connected

after their fellowship year finishes, deepening their ability to enact change

through heightened skills and strong partnerships. We currently place fellows

in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, the United States, and Zambia.


Days for Girls Uganda’s mission is to

create a more dignified, free, and educated world through access to lasting

feminine hygiene solutions. This mission is powered by our three- tier model

offering locally made, high-quality washable menstrual hygiene kits,

reproductive health education training, and women-led enterprise development.

Our current priorities include strengthening our program delivery through

regular evaluation, assessment, and refresher trainings of our program staff,

creation of follow-up support resources for program participants, and improved

monitoring and evaluation systems. Our aim is to fully prove our model in 2016

to allow for scale, replication, and adaption to expand to other countries in

2016 and 2017.


Job Summary: The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will

support the Program Manager and Country Director in strengthening the execution

of our Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) System. The incumbent will take

lead of the team in the process of assessing and solidifying our theory of

change, adding a clear structure to our current M&E activities.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify

gaps in M&E capacity and create tailored training programs and resources to

support professional growth and development among program staff


·        
Effectively

utilize ESRI mobile form and database for compilation and analysis of

field-based data collection efforts


·        
Render

support in the integration of program data into Salesforce database and reports


·        
Evaluate

and streamline existing monitoring and evaluation systems


·        
Oversee

qualitative and quantitative data collection efforts during field-based

training programs


·        
Manage

data entry process and analyze data results


·        
Create

and disseminate regular program reports and updates


·        
Create

resources for strengthening business and community outreach efforts of Days for

Girls Enterprises around Uganda


·        
Develop

systems for evaluating program processes and implementation quality


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience:

The

ideal candidate for the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer should be an

American who possesses excellent project management skills

with database management and analysis

Proven

ability to prioritize tasks

Excellent

organizational skills


·        
Computer

literacy i.e. proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher. Previous experience

with data management systems such as STATA, SPSS, or similar program

Prior

experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce


·        
Work

experience in demanding, results-oriented environment


·        
Prior

experience working in the field of sexual reproductive health


·        
Willingness

to travel approximately 25% within the country


Job Terms and Conditions: Fellows will be provided with housing,

health insurance and a living stipend of $550/month. Additionally, fellows will

receive an award of $1500 upon successful completion of the fellowship year.

Flights to and from the placement site and all other costs associated with GHC

programming are included, including $600 in professional development funds.

Housing arrangements vary based on the placement organization and location

within the country. Days for Girls Uganda provides a private room in a

four-bedroom shared house. This house is located within the same compound as

our office. Fellows will have full access to the office kitchen 24/7 and Wi-Fi.

The office is located in a safe residential neighborhood not far from Acacia

Mall in Kisementi – a neighborhood in Kampala, an urban center.


Note:

The living stipend and completion award may be paid out in USD or local

currency, as determined by the placement organization.
