Project Officer TB-Diabetes Project – Kampala – International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease

Job Summary: The Project Officer will offer support to the TB-Diabetes Project in the areas of TB and Diabetes and develop training material for health providers in the public sector in Kampala.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work closely with the District Health Officer, the Division Health Officers and the Project staff to provide technical support on TB and Diabetes.
· The incumbent will also work in liaison with the Division Health Officers and the public health facilities identify training needs, develop action plans and implement the desired actions to address the recognized needs.
· Develop training materials and take part in trainings for the public health providers in regard to TB and Diabetes.
· Oversee the implementation of project activities within his/her assigned project area and serve as first point of contact on all project related enquiries within the assigned region/Division.
· Coordinate all monitoring and evaluation activities within assigned region/division and drafts regular monthly and quarterly reports using specific project tools.
· Work in close collaboration with Division Health Officer to collect and organize data related to TB and Diabetes from the public health facilities.
· Coordinate and provide support supervision and mentorship to the public facilities within his/her assigned region/Division.
· Performs other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant must be a fully qualified and registered Clinical Officer or Nursing Officer
· A minimum of two years’ experience in coordinating public health projects at district level.
· Broad working knowledge and understanding of Tuberculosis and Diabetes Mellitus control will be added advantage.
