The Ministry of Water and Environment

(MWE) through the Directorate of Water Development DWD) established Umbrella

Organisations (UOs) as de-concentrated units to support the Operation and

Maintenance (O&M) of the water and sanitation facilities in small towns and

rural growth centres geared towards improving their Functionality and

Sustainability. The UOs which are funded by both Government of Uganda (GoU) and

the Development Partners (DPs) are de-concentrated in six regions namely;

South- Western-Kabale, Central-Wakiso, Mid-Western- Kyenjojo, Northern-Lira,

Eastern-Mbale and Karamoja-Moroto covering the entire Country.


Key

Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Keeping

the vehicle in good running order, ensure the safety of the vehicle and its

accessories such as spare tyre, tools (wheel spanners) and ensure vehicle

cleanliness and maintenance. The vehicles should be washed and cleaned on daily

basis by the driver.


·        
The

Driver will also keep logbook records daily/weekly/monthly vehicle mileage,

fuel consumed, repairs and servicing performed on the vehicle and the

spares/parts fitted on the vehicle stating the date and the cost. Submit a

vehicle report at the end of the month. The replaced spares should be returned

to the stores.


·        
Drive

the vehicles between different points as directed by the Administrative

Assistant/Secretary.


·        
Ensure

strict compliance with traffic regulations.


·        
Ensure

the appropriate maintenance of vehicles in co-operation with the Administrator

and other staff.


·        
Perform

any other assignment that may be assigned from time to time by the

Administrative Assistant/Secretary.


Qualifications,

Skills and Experience: 


·        
The

ideal candidate should preferably hold a Uganda Education Certificate (U.C.E)


·        
Hold

a clean driving permit


·        
Three

years driving’ experience
