Humanitarian
Initiative Just Relief Aid (HIJRA) is an international African humanitarian and
development organization that positively contributes towards improving the
living standards and conditions of those adversely affected by disasters and
conflict in the Horn, East & Central Africa by implementing WASH, Health,
Education, Livelihoods, Community service & development and Protection
programs in the region for a period of more than 20 years.
HIJRA with
funding from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in
Uganda to implement a multi-Sectoral Program for refugees in Oruchinga
settlement (Isingiro district) and Nyakabande Transit Center (Kisoro district).
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
·
The job holder proposes and implements systems,
procedures, and guidelines on Storage and stock control management in
accordance to HIJRA and donor requirements.
·
Co-ordinate and supervise order processes in the
stores to meet the delivery schedule in accordance with Stores Management
guidelines.
·
Initiate the process of estimating stock
requirements to avoid stock outs and waste in line with the departmental
guidelines on product quantification and consumption rate.
·
Oversee the receiving and inventory management
process in the stores in line with stores guidelines.
·
Manage the safety and hygiene in storage and
handling of stocks in line with pharmaceutical storage standards.
·
Actively monitor and maintain inventory controls
·
Manage the delicate and sensitive products with
utmost care
·
Prepare and submit monthly stock and warehouse
reports
·
Report on the quality and quantity of the received
items and ensure that quantities dispatched as per consignors documents match
·
Maintain proper storage conditions, pests free, clean
and organized no leakages
·
Prepare the GRN and have them confirmed/approved
by the supervisor
·
Record and maintain the accuracy of the receipt
and movement of the procured items
·
Work closely with the Finance and Admin Officer to
ensure the vendor records are well updated and reflect the true position
·
Ensure proper security conditions of the
warehouse, will make recommendations to improve the conditions and will make
necessary reports for any significant incident
·
Perform any other duty assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
·
The applicant should preferably hold a Diploma in
stores management training, warehouse, procurement and logistics management,
and any other similar qualifications.
·
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn

Excellent organization skills and able to work
under pressure
·
Excellent interpersonal skills
·
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·
Reliable and accountable
·
Good team player
·
High proficiency in use of computer in day to day
work.
