alleviation Programs, is registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization

implements integrated development approach combining Education, Health,

Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.


Job Summary: The HR-Officer Employee Relations and Performance

will be responsible for the overall operation and implementation of the

organizations employee relations, compliance to HRPP responsibilities, and

performance management. The incumbent will also be in charge of enforcing the

health and safety policy, procedure and practices.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Providing technical advice to supervisors and

    employees to resolve specific problems relating to coaching, counseling,

    progressive discipline with particular attention to grievance case

    management, duties and performance management.

  • Responsible for providing direct assistance

    for the formulation and implementation of BRAC Microfinance Ltd policies

    and procedure as they affect the human resources area with a focus on

    employee relations and performance management.

  • Keeping current with Local Labor Laws and

    regulations through official publications and communication with

    appropriate agencies.

  • The jobholder will be preparing articles,

    presentations, and other publications which provide information concerning

    BRAC Uganda Microfinance Ltd and activities related to employee relations

    and equal access/ equal opportunity.

  • In charge of managing any arising labor law

    cases in terms of documentation and follow up.

  • Update the HRPP as well as formulating

    communication to staff on any new decisions and revisions.

  • Responsible for managing all disciplinary

    cases of BRAC Microfinance Ltd. Advising the HR team in dealing with

    employee relation issues and maintaining good relations, this may include

    providing training and refreshers for all HRO’S and line managers

    frequently.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the HR-Officer Employee

    Relations and Performance job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s Degree

    in Human Resource Management or any other relevant Degree accompanied by a

    PGDE in HRM

  • Essential additional qualifications for this

    role are a training of trainers and customer service certificates

  • At least two years’ working experience in a

    busy environment preferably in banking or microfinance industry

  • Dynamic and flexible individual that can

    manage frequent travel to Regional, Area and Branch offices.

  • Previous exposure and experience in

    developing and implementing strategic/ operational plans for financial

    institutions.

  • Possess excellent communication and

    Interpersonal skills Excellent knowledge and application of local and

    International labor laws

  • Good computer literacy i.e. working knowledge

    of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc
