Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager, and the direct

guidance of the Support Services Officer, the Finance & Administration

Clerk will be responsible to support administrative and finance as follows:

  • Render support in routine finance related

    tasks, including running payment remittances in UNOPS online ERP system,

    recording entries in general ledger and other account management duties;

  • Assist in petty cash administration;

  • In charge of maintaining the section’s filing

    system;

  • Assist in administrative arrangements for

    personnel and visitors;

  • Assist in the stocktaking and inventory of

    office equipment;

  • Assist with routine logistical and

    administrative duties at the duty station;

  • Perform any other related duties as required

    by the Programme Manager.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the United Nations

    Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Finance and Administration Clerk

    vacancy should hold a High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least three years’ experience in administration

    or finance or any relevant field:

  • Computer literacy skills i.e. Proficiency in

    the use of MS Office is required;

  • Working knowledge of commercial banking ERP

    systems is desired;

  • Knowledge of public accounting rules is

    desired;

  • Previous exposure and experience of managing

    petty cash is desired;

  • Possess a valid driver’s License is desired;

  • Working knowledge of UN/UNOPS policies and

    procedures is desired;

  • Working experience with an internationally

    recognized organization (UN, International NGOs, Humanitarian agency) is

    desired;

  • Fluency in English (writing, speaking and

    reading) is required; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

  • Teamwork:

    supports and acts in accordance with final group decisions, even when such

    Identifies priority activities and assignments; adjusts priorities as

    required; allocates appropriate amount of time and resources for

    completing work; foresees risks and allows for contingencies when

    planning; monitors and adjusts plans and actions as necessary; uses time

    efficiently;

  • Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and

    effectively; listens to others, correctly interprets messages from others

    and responds appropriately; asks questions to clarify, and exhibits

    interest in having two-way communication; tailors language, tone, style

    and format to match the audience; Demonstrates openness in sharing

    information and keeping people informed;
