Muni

University is a Public university established by the Uganda Government by

Statutory Instrument, 2013 No. 31, in accordance with the Universities &

Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2006 as amended. Muni University campus is

located in Arua District, 3Km South of Arua town in North-Western Uganda.


Job Summary: The Custodian will facilitate the smooth operation

of the Lecture Rooms and Administration Block


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures proper cleanliness and proper order

    of all lecture rooms and Offices including furniture.

  • Works in liaison with concerned staff to

    ensure security of persons and property within the University.

  • Keeps an inventory of all furniture fittings,

    machines and equipment used in the University and ensuring they are

    properly used and maintained.

  • Ensures proper maintenance of furniture.

  • The incumbent ensures that doors and windows

    are opened and closed at appropriate times and that lights are switches on

    and off before and after lectures.

  • Reports any problems in the area of jurisdiction

    to the supervisor.

  • Prepares and submits the Semester report on

    the status of facilities and equipment in the area of jurisdiction.

  • Mentors and supervises Staff, assesses

    performance and identifies training needs and recommends appropriate

    training.


Key Performance Indicators:

  • An up -to-date assets inventory.

  • Facilities and equipment are proper stored

    and maintained.

  • Materials and equipment items are requisitioned

    timely.

  • Semester Reports on problems in their areas

    of jurisdiction timely produced and submitted.

  • Damages are timely reported for repairs.

  • Performance assessment conducted by 31st July

    and performance plans agreed with Staff by 31st August every year.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the Custodian vacancy

    should preferably hold an ;A’ Level Certificate.

  • Computer literacy skills

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in

    Office Management work or security related work.

  • Impeccable level of  integrity.
