Muni

University is a Public university established by the Uganda Government by

Statutory Instrument, 2013 No. 31, in accordance with the Universities &

Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2006 as amended. Muni University campus is

located in Arua District, 3Km South of Arua town in North-Western Uganda.


Job Summary: The Stores Assistant will ensure that University’s

stores are properly kept, maintained and properly issued out to users within

the University.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • In charge of designing and maintaining stores

    inventory manual.

  • Participate in receiving, recording and

    storing goods, equipment and supplies

  • Receives approved requisitions and issue

    stores accordingly.

  • Renders support in stock taking of the

    various items in store.

  • Ensures safety of supplies while in the

    store, including and not limited to perishable goods.

  • Assists in Receiving checking and verifying

    supplier’s invoices.

  • Keeps up-to-date stock records and prepares

    requisite stores report.

  • Ensures optimum stock levels are maintained

    in the store.

  • Regulates distribution of supplies to the

    University staff.


Key Performance Indicators:

  • Goods and supplies received, recorded stored.

  • Approved requisitions received and stores

    issued accordingly.Safety of supplies ensured.

  • Stores inventory maintained.

  • Supplier’s invoices received, checked and

    verified.

  • Up-to-date stock records kept and requisite

    stores report prepared.

  • Optimum stock levels maintained in the store.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Diploma

    in Stores Management or Purchasing and Supplies Management from a

    recognized institution.

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in

    relevant stores management in a reputable public or private organization.

  • Good computer skills
