ICT – Manager – Kampala – Mengo Hospital

Mengo Hospital was founded in 1897 in Kampala, and is the oldest hospital in Uganda. It currently serves as an urban community hospital that provides modern medical care. Mengo Hospital provides comprehensive care including radiology, obstetrics, dentistry, orthopedics, and surgery. Additionally, Mengo Hospital provides critical training and education to health professionals through its various programs in midwifery and nursing, health sciences, and laboratory technology. Mengo Hospital also has a dedicated research and development team that works to find new solutions to health issues in Uganda.

Job Summary: The ICT – Manager will act as the overall authority in matters of the Hospital’s ICT function and lead the unit.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
In charge of ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the ICT function in the hospital and align it to the achievement of the Hospital’s vision, mission, goals, objectives, business strategies and audits.
Responsible for managing and coordinating the effective integration of ICT into the Hospital business processes and management activities
Overseeing the effective management, development and usage of Hospital ICT resources
In charge of managing the performance of ICT staff
Overseeing the provision of reliable ICT services to end users on a 24-7 basis

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or Business Information Systems with a Master’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in MIS field
Possession of professional qualifications in CCNA, MCSE, CISM or CGEIT
A minimum of eight years’ relevant arid practical working experience in a reputable organization, three of which as Head or Deputy Head of ICT Unit at management level
Excellent organizational and leadership skills to direct operational ICT staff
The applicant must be an honest, mature and well balanced person with integrity
Age: Above 35 years
