Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) is a National Ugandan Organization that was established in 1991 as a Medical Institution and HIV/AIDS Centre of Excellence specializing in Medical Research, Health Care and Training.

Job Summary: The Research Nurse (Nursing Officer) will be responsible for recruiting, screening, enrolling and following patients in interventional and observational protocol(s) conducted at the Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
In charge of recruiting, consenting, enrolling and management of patients on research studies;
Carrying out and documenting study evaluations, medical histories, adverse events, physical assessments, specimen collection, clinical trial medication administration and monitoring; accurate data collection in research record, and quality assurance as per good clinical practice, and sponsor regulatory requirements;
Routinely interfacing with monitoring, addressing and resolving queries. Given the responsibilities and scope of this clinical research position, the breadth and complexity of the portfolio of protocols and the need to work closely with the other research staff in the unit to cross cover protocols

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicants should at least hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Possession of a current practicing license, issued by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
One year of clinical experience; and an additional year of research experience with an established research institution.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once, e.g. 3- 4 clinical trials (preferably of HIV)
