Job Summary: The Network Operations Manager will serve as the

focal point of all network assurance and service assurance activities. The

Network Operations Manager is responsible for the performance and daily

activities of 1st and 2nd level operations.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for managing the Network

    Operations Assurance, the organization and motivation of all Network

    operations personnel.

  • Conduct or participate in recruitment

    interviews for selection of personnel.

  • Recognize the training requirements for

    personnel and give coaching where applicable.

  • Be responsible for the wellbeing of all staff

    in terms of their working environment and conditions of employment.

  • Ensure that the operational team is

    adequately staffed at all times.

  • Provide the Head of Operations Assurance with

    operation reports on a scheduled basis.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all

    network outages and incidences

  • Co-ordinate works between Network operations

    team other operations work areas, customer and 3rd parties to ensure

    smooth delivery of services to customer.

  • Head the Change Advisory Board (CAB)

  • Act as customer interface for network

    operational issues and building relationship with customer

  • Responsible for the operational team’s

    performance.

  • Responsible for network performance as per

    contractual KPI’s

  • Responsible to support full implementation of

    processes and procedures in the operational team

  • Define and set up of resource management

    operational routines based on main goals and priorities defined by

    operations management. This includes definition of routines activities

    within the operational team e.g. performance reporting, backup handling.

  • Responsible for the planning of human

    resources within the operational team.

  • Responsible to define the reporting in

    accordance with the contractual obligation, and to schedule for regular

    collection of statistics.

  • Responsible for vendor management i.e.

    ensuring that vendors are performing in according with service level

    agreement. This implies the need to have regular operational and

    performance meeting with the vendors.

  • Act as outage manager during network outages

    recovery procedure and participate in On-Call Duty Manager rotation.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate should hold a Degree in

    Electrical Engineering/ Telecommunication Engineering/Computer

    Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent.

  • At least seven years’ experience in Telecom

    industry.

  • Strong management background in the

    telecommunication industry preferably in the Operation or Support

    capacity.

  • Good knowledge of Mobile communications

  • Broad working knowledge of LTE network

    topology, its traffic handling capabilities and traffic characteristics.

  • Good knowledge of performance parameters and

    their interpretation and use.

  • Highly developed knowledge of network

    implementation / integration processes

  • Excellent knowledge of network operations

  • Excellent customer management skills
