such as: Pre-paid plans, Post-paid plans, International roaming, Dedicated

customer care, One rate to all networks, Fax and Data, Call forwarding, Per

second billing, Freedom Forever and Mobile Top up.  Airtel in Uganda is a great success story in

Uganda. Our customer base has grown tremendously – so has our coverage – and

our service quality is unsurpassed in the market.


Job Summary: The Usage & Retention VAS Manager will be

mainly responsible for ensuring that the VAS and related key product platforms

meet the business’ current and future needs and conform to Airtel Group

standards.  Support in staying abreast of

industry trends for VAS platforms so as to increase VAS Revenues through growth

and retention of VAS subscribers.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Engage in Customer studies on VAS needs and

    wants then develop relevant products and services

  • Initiate ideas on products and services that

    lead to the growth of VAS subscribers 

  • Ensure value added services are aligned to

    customer segments and take action to maintain and increase usage to

    maximize ARPUs

  • Keenly monitor the performance through

    development and implementation of innovative VAS for the different market

    segments

  • Conduct reconciliation with the different

    content providers

  • Manage and approve tunes provided by the

    content providers and maintain the tunes on the IVR

  • Work hand in hand with Products team for the

    launch of new products

  • Prepare and submit daily revenue and service

    usage performance reports


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  

  • The ideal candidate for the Airtel Usage

    & Retention VAS Manager career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree

    in Information Technology and computing, BBA (Marketing)

  • At least three to five years’ experience in a

    marketing position, with a focus on product development

  • Working knowledge of VAS functions, its

    application in various markets and revenue models.

  • Broad knowledge of Telecom and VAS

    integration

  • Working knowledge of VAS revenue drivers

  • Able to operate in a performance driven

    organization

  • Technical knowledge of the latest

    technologies and services used within the industry

  • Excellent Data analysis and Microsoft Excel

    skills.

  • Motivated, flexible and decisive with ability

    to convince and align groups with divergent views.

  • Culturally aware and adept at working across

    multiple geographies.

  • Customer focused and goal oriented

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communications skills, both orally

    and in writing
