Job Summary: The Business
Engagement Manager will primarily be responsible for understanding the overall
Business strategy and the inter-dependencies between Business and Technical
strategies. The incumbent will also manage customer engagement, including
obtaining feedback from management teams on service delivered to their areas and
ensuring that issues are resolved or escalated where necessary. He / she will
also accountable point of contact for IT related requests from Business
Managers. The Business Engagement Manager will be responsible for ensuring that
business requests received are allocated to the relevant service provider to
action. The job holder will also be responsible for understanding the Bank’s
business, industry and trends, establishing goals and objectives, and
translating the business needs into technical solutions along with overseeing
delivery of IT services and projects to ensure internal client satisfaction.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Manage the Production Assurance team;
·
The incumbent negotiates IT and business
commitments, such as project scope, business benefits potential and
realization, technology options, cost and constraints and propose alternatives
to the business.
·
Work closely with internal clients to define
requirements and manage expectations and communications from inception through
delivery, including status updates, budget reconciliation, scope changes, etc.
·
Plans, organizes and leads application and
infrastructure requirements for the business.
·
Engages with the Project Management Organization to
ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting the
client’s needs.
·
Recognizes and progresses the requirements to
balance risk and cost appropriate for industry and regulating environment.
·
Works in liaison with the senior leadership and the
application development group or suppliers to ensure a timely, accurate and
cost effective solution to their IT business needs.
·
Interfaces with the application development test
team to validate test results for new applications verifying that they meet the
requirements of the business group and industry validation standards.
·
Maintain technology roadmap for the Bank’s business
and integration into the global technology roadmap for Stanbic and Client as a
whole.
·
Mentors and trains business partners on how to work
with IT.
·
Significantly contributes to the appropriate use of
team budget.
·
Prepare presentations, proposals and statements of
work for project engagements.
·
Define and manage the overall project goals and
success criteria.
·
Work closely with technical teams to address all
issues that may affect the delivery of the project.
·
Provide a stable and consistent methodology for
managing internal client relationships and services
2.
Business Engagement Roles;
·
Understand the overall Business strategy and the
interdependencies between Business and Technical strategies
·
Manage customer engagement, including obtaining
feedback from management teams on service delivered to their areas and ensuring
that issues are resolved or escalated where necessary.

Accountable point of contact for IT related requests
from Business Managers.
·
Responsible for ensuring that business requests
received from LoB are allocated to the relevant service provider to action.
3.
Steer the team in delivering Key Projects;
·
Define project scope, goals and deliverables that
support business goals in collaboration with sponsors and relevant
stakeholders.
·
Define project success criteria and disseminate them
to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
·
Plan project in order to accomplish its goals within
constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards.
·
Develop full-scale project plans and associated
communication documents.
·

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·
The ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank
Relationship Manager vacancy should hold an M.Sc. in a Banking or Technical field, computer
science (e.g. Accounting, Investments, Engineering, etc
·
A minimum of five years’ experience in any of the
following areas: Project Management, IT business Engagement Delivery.
·
A minimum of three years management experience
·
A minimum of three to five year planning required
(Bank level)
·
Banking/financial industry experience would be an
added advantage
·
Good problem solving skills
·
Manage teams & issues during projects and Change
Request implementations
·
Provide solutions for problems encountered on
systems and advise the MD, Heads of Business Units and Centre IT in need
·
Devise alternative solutions as and when required to
ensure continuance of operations
·
Yearly Strategic planning for department
·
Project implementation plans (quarterly)
·
Production processing and Change Request
implementation
·
Knowledge and skills in shutting down of Production
servers in liaison with Business Units and MD
·
Working knowledge of switching to contingency
systems in liaison with Centre
·
Knowledge and skills in allocating resources to
critical assignments
