About USAID SHOPS Project:


The

Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) project is

USAID’s flagship initiative in private sector health. SHOPS focuses on

increasing availability, improving quality, and expanding coverage of essential

health products and services in family planning and reproductive health,

maternal and child health, HIV and AIDS, and other health areas through the

private sector. In Uganda, the healthy mother voucher program has two

objectives: to provide access to maternal child health care services from

accredited private facilities and to build the capacity of a local organization

to manage the voucher program.


Job Summary: The Deputy

Chief of Party will provide leadership, management, and strategic direction to

the Abt team implementing this project, in close coordination with the Chief of

Party.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The applicant should preferably hold a Master’s Degree

(minimum) in public health, business administration, social marketing, finance,

or other related fields;


·        
A minimum of ten years’ professional experience in

designing, implementing and managing private sector health projects in

developing countries;


·        
Proven leadership skills and experience in managing

private sector interventions;


·        
Vast experience interacting with host country

governments and counterparts and international donor agencies at high levels.
